Places to eat
If you are not in the mood to cook your meals over an open campfire, or on one of the gas grills we provide for members to use, there are numerous options for dining in the area. From coffee shops, take-out pizza, or fine dining, here is a list of some of our recommendations for places to grab a bite.
Sunrise Bagel, Waterville
​ In 2021 Sunrise Bagels opened their first location in Waterville, in 2024 they are working on opening their third location. They make all their bagels in house, by hand and they are some of the best bagels we have ever had! They also have a great menu of sandwiches and spreads. Everyday there is also an assortment of off menu baked goods.

Lion's Den Tavern, Waterville
​There are a lot of great restaurants in Waterville, nine times out of ten, if we are eating out, we are eating at the Lion's Den. The food is great, the energy is always high, two great bars (one upstairs and one downstairs, live entertainment and an amazing staff.

Erica's, Waterville
​Erica's is our favorite place for breakfast. They are open for both breakfast and lunch, their breakfast menu is available until close. Their Eggs Benedict is a can't miss, if you like corned beef hash, they make their own. They always have a creative daily specials menu, mimosas, and spiked coffees.

Lori's Cafe, Liberty
​If you are headed to Route 1 or to Belfast, make a stop at Lori's Cafe on Rt. 3 along your way. Everything is home made, great baked goods, coffees, or breakfast. Lori's is only 8 miles from the lodge.

Front & Main
Front & Main is definitely a stand out in downtown Waterville. At the very end of Main Street, just a block from the Paul J. Schupf Art Center Front & Main occupies the first floor of the Lockwood Hotel building. Follow the link to check out their menu, its a popular brunch place for both our members and our staff.

Young's Lobster Pound
Young's Lobster Pound & Seafood Restaurant overlooks the Penobscot Bay offering indoor or outside deck seating. They serve lunch and dinner and allow you to bring your own wine or beer. You can eat in – take out – and pick your own lobster from their 30,000 lb. capacity aquarium. Dine in while taking in a beautiful view of the bay.

Opa, Waterville
​We love this place! Authentic Greek food prepared by authentic Greek people right in downtown Waterville. They have a great menu of appetizers, entrées, and desserts as well as a great cocktail menu.

Unity House of Pizza, Unity
​Located about 13 miles from the lodge, Unity House of Pizza is where we go when we want take out pizzas. They have a huge menu, more than two dozen pizzas, pages of pasta dishes, as well as take-out fare like chicken fingers, French Fries, sandwiches.

Jin Yuan, Waterville
​For take-out Chinese food this place is our favorite (and we eat a lot of take-out Chinese food!) Located on Temple Street, just off of Main Street in downtown Waterville, they have great combo deals. We love their beef teriyaki, General Tao's Chicken, and their Beef Lo Mein.

Wild Clover Cafe
This adorable cafe opened in Waterville a little over year ago. European inspired baked goods and sandwiches. Everything is absolutely delicious. It is located on the concourse behind Maine Street in Waterville.

Hey Sailor
Not only is Hey Sailor gay owned, its owners are also members here at TPL! Hey Sailor is located 45 minutes east of the lodge in the town of Searsport.
Adjacent to the restaurant is their event space Starboard Lounge, be sure to check out their schedule of events.
